Introduction

Here it is my latest effort made in a few months exclusively in my free time: a "rogue like/te" playable directly on the web (for now only from Desktop).
Every time you play, the levels of the dungeon are randomly generated (but controlled), so the "run" is always different.
Technically it was written from scratch without the use of frameworks in plain html/css (no canvas) and of course a lot of javascript: it was quite a challenge.
It all started when I became passionate about algorithms to generate random mazes ... then what comes from what and the project got a bit out of hand (but those who know me know that I never start a thing without completing it in some way).
Finally, as usual, the game overflows with quotes or references to the masterpieces of the genre (or related genres).
I hope you enjoy this game as much as I enjoyed making it.

Instructions

Use "WASD" to move (or arrow cursors), press "E" (or space bar) to interact with some objects (e.g. torches, chests, bonfires...).
During combat, when is your turn, click on the attack bar to land a blow: be sure to click when the indicator is inside the hit area or you'll miss.
Different weapons have different attack bars.
You can click on any enemy to get informations about his power and his stack.
You can click on any item to get various informations about it.
To split in half the quantity of an item, press "SHIFT" and then drag the item.
Please note that the game saves automatically at the very beginning of every level so if you have to quit please do it at that point and you can resume you game later.

Known issues

No sound or music.
On Firefox scrollbars are ugly.
For sure there are bugs, if you find one please email me, best would be if you explain how to reproduce it.

Some graphics have been edited by me so maybe they probably look a bit odd.

Hints and Tips

Light the torches hanging on the wall could be useful in those levels where your field of vision is limited because they give you a trace of where you have already been.
Save your healing potions, probably you'll need some of them in the last levels.
Every 5 or 6 levels, you will find a safe place to rest where you can recover all your lost hit points (although resting gets you hungry and thirsty).
Don't get hungry and thirsty because you'll get a lot of penalties during the fights.
In level 5 and in level 10 there is a secret room: the first one is easy to find because in level 5 you see the entire map while on the level 10 you have to look carefully to find it because in that level your field of vision is limited (but the reward you'll find in that room is great).
During the fight, you can change your active target by clicking on any enemy: this can be useful for your fighting strategy.
Remember to fill your quick use slots with items that give you health because you can consume them in case of need during a fight!
Remember to cook at the bonfires the raw food you find.
If you feel lost in some levels, you can "follow" the spikes path: sooner or later it gets you in the right direction.
You can lure monsters to spikes in order to weaken them before the fight (although not all monsters fall into the trap).
Chose the weapon you like more in the first levels because during the game you obtain two upgraded version of that weapon accordingly to the choice you made (you use the sword you'll get more powerful swords , if you use a mace you'll get more powerful maces and so on).
During the fights, swords are well balanced between speed and damage.
Spears do less damage but increase your speed.
Maces do powerful damage but decrease your speed.
